Bored/Irritated Thread

Some of the most interesting pieces of Luther's life come to us from a collection of stories that his students collected that they called Table Talk. In the collection, we find Luther talking about his views on theology, marriage, the pope and just about everything else in his life. Please take this chance to express your views about life, but please, try to keep the Luther-like vulgarity to a minimum.

Irritating: When 8:05 or 8:07 are considered just as good as 8:00. Really irritating. Wish I could elaborate, but that would be uncharitable. Nevertheless, it's really, really irritating. Really.

Irritating. When old Lutheran ladies who are supposed to be doing acts of mercy/volunteerism at the thrift shop are rude and sniping towards the dysfunctional street people who populate our rough neighborhood.

I'm seeing the same thing. Usually it means that your cookie expired or was dumped by your computer. But it may mean that the server needs maintenance and is setting the expiration date in the past.

So . . . a few months of uncomfortable silence, then a clearing of the air, and all seems to be well. For about three days. Then the same old crap starts again.

If you say that you are going to do something, do it.

I can forgive. But trust, once destroyed, does not return easily.

Men are ridiculous and suitable for incessant mockery.

Argh.

Welcome back General.

I think ValS should declare a General amnesty in honor of his return.

We've got a family who has fostered children over the years. One of my fourth graders was a foster child who was adopted by this family. A younger child was in the process of being adopted when his biological father showed up and decided that he wanted full custody of G. After a lot of wrangling in the court, it was finally decided that G. should be returned to his father. The fourth grader is devastated. She was separated from her own biological brother when her bio. mom decided to keep the brother but not D. So now she has been bonding with G. for four years and he's going to be taken from her. Both of these children were born addicted to drugs and alcohol, by the way, so the foster parents have been through a lot with them. I have no idea where G's bio. mom is; she is out of the picture entirely.

I don't know what else to say except that if you would please pray for all concerned, I know God will hear you. Thanks.

I realize that this is the bored/irritated thread, but I want to use this space to express how
GLAD
I am when guilty parents call me to unload and let me know that I'm the scum of the earth, whose only reason for living is to torment their child and I'd better never do it again.
It makes me so
HAPPY
that kids go home and blow small matters into a ginormous size and the parents don't even question that the kid is giving an accurate account of the event in question.
It is my
JOY and PLEASURE
to deal with something that would not have happened at all had the parents taken their heads out of their arses in the first place and not told the kid to keep her schoolbooks at home and not take them to school because why in the world would she need them there?!?!
DUH

Irritating: People over the age of 12 who take ten minutes to tell a story with 30 seconds of content. (Under age 12, it's usually for an amusing reason that the stories go on and on.) Someone I love does this which makes it even more challenging.
