Old Lutheran Rumors

Some of the most interesting pieces of Luther's life come to us from a collection of stories that his students collected that they called Table Talk. In the collection, we find Luther talking about his views on theology, marriage, the pope and just about everything else in his life. Please take this chance to express your views about life, but please, try to keep the Luther-like vulgarity to a minimum.

What is happening at Old Lutheran? What have you heard? What products do you wish were offered?

Kind of an out-of-context thought, but maybe there should be a link to the store from the main page of the forum?

I know it's appeared at various times, but a permanent link on the OL email ads to Table Talk might stir up some new blood here. Not that the old blood is bad. Well . . . not usually anyway.

I'm still waiting for Luther rose stickers. I think that tattoo is a great design (nice and colorful for the kiddies) and I'd like to see it on stickers. Half inch and full inch sizes are the most useful. I'd hate to have to order an inferior style from CPH. :?

[after checking email . . . ] Oh, OK. I see the gist of this thing.

Well . . . I've heard that there's going to be a big rock concert at 12:01 P.M. on Friday, Sept. 14 on the roof of the Old Lutheran store. Guitars will be smashed, amps will explode, and poultry will be beheaded. But don't take my word for it. I'm just a moderator.

Pssst---you folks who have linked up from the email: Register! Come and talk with us! If you've never been involved with a discussion group before, this is a great one to start on. Make up a funny name for yourself and jump into the conversation. :D

I have seen Luther Rose stickers someplace, but don't remember where I got them. Have given them to kids during children's sermons and confirmation. I would like Luther Rose "clings" (I don't know what else to call them... transparent plastic that sticks to glass such as car windows, mirrors, etc) You could do them (the "clings") also with each denominations "logo" -- the LCMS cross, the ELCA sphere, whatever WELS is, and all the others....

I heard that OL was going to start offering Baptist goods as well, just for variety.

(and I second the desire for clings- I would like to put something Lutheran on the back window of my car)
Why are you looking down here? This stuff never changes, go look at something new... like the outdoors.

I ordered a bunch of Luther rose clings and I like em. CPH sells them. I like the idea for denominational clings though.

A 95-theses-posting-party around Fargo-Moorhead on Reformation night?

Special on Laugh at the Pope ("Snickers") Blizzards at the 8th St. DQ?

Concert using all the lyrics we're posting here?

Not only will poultry be beheaded, it will be plucked, gutted, and fried to a delicious golden crispiness. 7th Seal will play, the 3 non-Lutherans in the band will convert, and the musical genre of Chef Metal will be born.

I have a couple Luther rose suncatchers from CPH. I know they have the stickers there, but I don't think they're as attractive as the tattoos OL has.

Something else I heard was that all of the people who register here on TableTalk and make five or more posts before next Friday will receive a thousand dollars in cold hard cash.

I also heard that there will be REV on tap, free to anyone who buys one of those big beer glasses. (I had one of those for five minutes before I gave it to the Hilarious Vicar because he admired it so much.)

Looks like tomorrow is the big day! What will happen? I hope someone brings a digital camera and posts some pictures ASAP. Yes, we know . . . the camera adds 50 pounds. No one will judge.
