It's still a work in progress, with notes in some places where I will put fll sentences later, with blank spots in the outline, and with one section of ideas from 3 years ago that I need to revamp to fit in the present outline, but . . . here is the proclamation my congregatio will hear on Sunday (and our sister congregation will hear on Monday night.)

My offering in our neck of the woods, same text as above. Borrwed heavily from wisdom of others this week. Tried to give each one "credit" where due.

P14 C 2007 Humility, Mutual Love, Hospitality: Grace & Peace, etc.
Tomas Wheeler, CEO
of the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company
told this story re: self.
While he and his wife were driving in the country,
he noticed they were low on gas.
So, he pulled off the 1st exit
& came to a dumpy little gas station w/ only 1 pump. Only 1 attendant working in that place
&Thomas asked him to fill it up
while he checked the oil level.
He added a qt, closed the hood,
& noticed that his wife was talking & smiling
at the gas station attendant.
Wheeler paid the man & he & wife pulled away.
Somewhat puzzled,
he asked his wife if she knew the attendant.
Well, she admitted she did know him.
In fact, she had known him quite well.
Not only did they attend the same high school,
but they had also dated seriously for about a year. Well, Tom Wheeler couldn’t help bragging a little
so he said,
“Boy, you were lucky I came along.
If you had married him,
you would be the wife of a gas station attendant,
instead of a CEO.â€
