ELCA: Psalm 51: 1-18
1st Lesson: Joel 2:1-2, 12-17 (OR Isaiah 58: 1-12)
2nd lesson: II Cor. 5:20b- 6: 10
Gospel: Mathhew 6:1-6, 16-21
LCMS: Psalm 51:1-13 (14-19)
1st Lesson Joel 2: 12-19
2nd lesson -- same as above

So, please discuss: do you have Ash Weds. Worship? Corporate confession ? Imposition of Ashes? Invitation to "Lenten Discipline"? Same sermon each year for the occasion? Start from scratch? Where is the Spirit calling you this year?? Please share as the Spirit leads.

We will have he imporsition of ashes

We will also have coporate confession and absolution - with a special time to examine ourselves before the confession. We will go through each of the commandments - one by one - with Luther's explanation from the SC - and with a time for self-examination and questions to assist with that.

There will eb a sermon based on the Gospel reading

for prayers, we will use the Litany.
