Attention new users!

Some of the most interesting pieces of Luther's life come to us from a collection of stories that his students collected that they called Table Talk. In the collection, we find Luther talking about his views on theology, marriage, the pope and just about everything else in his life. Please take this chance to express your views about life, but please, try to keep the Luther-like vulgarity to a minimum.

It simply has to be done. I came here after weeks and of course I know the drill. Newcomers will be overwhelmed with his epic rants and someone is just going to have to decide to put him in his own category. It's killing the diversity here.

Good point. Herding people that we disagree with into special areas will definitely make this place more welcoming.

In this case you are dealing with an individual who has created enough difficulty over along enough period of time with enough raving banter that it seems only appropriate to allow him to continue his observations without chocking the board completely. As far as I remember, he is the only one to indulge in this type of discourse. so it's not about herding as "bunch of people" but what to do about a specific instance. I think he should have a voice, and if people want to skip over to his area, let them. But hey, if OL wants to keep it this way, it's no problem for me. It just seems prudent on behalf of newcomers who see the threads congested with so many of his posts. I know there is a general tendency to let him post and then simply ignore him. So tell me, how well has that worked? It's a suggestion. Nothing more.

Hi there. I'm not exactly a new user. I'm a returning old user. Old Lutheran let me re-register because I asked him nicely. Hopefully some of you remember me - I still remember you.

Oh, I'm still in IT land. My current job expires on April 1, thanks to the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Law. I have been offered another job, but ....... there's a whole lot of paperwork involved. (And a drug test, but since I did that last month, and it only takes 3 days to get the results, and no one has called me back to say there's a problem, I assume I "passed".) And it's only a two year temp job, which you know would be the first one to get cut when they start cutting budgets. But it's all I've been offered. A lot of the people leaving don't have anything lined up.

Interesting, I haven't logged on here in I don't know when. Somewhere in the neighborhood of a "coon's age". whatever that really means :D I was surprised to find I hadn't been deleted.
