OLDLUTHERAN.COM

Hello %name%,

Old Lutheran is proud (but not too proud) to announce that we have switched to Fair Trade Coffees.  Still roasted from the Beans of Grace, these new coffees are all Trans Fair Certified Organic, Fair Trade Coffees.   The beans are then roasted to perfection in small batches by tribal members on the White Earth Anishinaabeg Reservation in northern Minnesota.  The name of our coffee is still the same, Most Certainly Brew!  The growing, harvesting and roasting are all done with better stewardship of the land and the person.

What does this mean?  Fair Trade helps family farmers in developing countries to gain direct access to international markets, as well as to develop the business capacity necessary to compete in the global marketplace. Organic
ensures no chemicals are used in the growing or harvesting process.  Beans of Grace guarantees that the same care and attention to detail that you have come to expect from Old Lutheran will still be there to get your coffee to you when you need it.  This coffee is Most Certainly Brew!

A change in our supply chain requires new names for the variety of blends that are available.  We took the first step when we switched to Fair Trade. Now, it’s up to you to decide (oops, did we say decide?) which blend is just right for you.  Available blends include:  Invocation Blend, Gospel Brunch Blend, Reformation Blend, and our decaf Benediction.

Plan your own Gospel Brunch now while the calendar still has room. This special Gospel party includes:  tater tot hot dish, red jello, and white buns.  Bring a dish to pass!  Weak coffee on the house. Old Lutheran doesn’t actually host the Gospel Brunch but we would be so pleased if you purchase your Gospel Brunch clothing from us.

2004 election day is only 2 days after Reformation day.  Get your Reformation shirt and vote for Martin Luther at the same time.  Available in 3 colors, Sport Grey, Reformation Red, and Confirmation Gown White, these shirts are sure to show off your Lutheran pride.  Each shirt is hand signed by Martin Luther as our founder gladly proclaims, “I’m Martin Luther and I approve this shirt.”  These shirts are priced to sell so buy 2 or 3 of them and give them to all the Lutherans in your car pool.  Instead of that fussy white gown, deck your confirmation students out in these shirts when they affirm their baptism.  There’s no campaigning on election day but no one can tell you not to wear your Reformation 2004 shirt when you vote.

And, speaking of voting,  Why are there 50 candidates for Miss America and only 2 for President of the United States?  Vote early, vote often, Vote Martin Luther!
