Apple Bread Basic Apple Bread

Servings: 4 | Prep Time: 1 hour, 20 min

Ingredients
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups shortening
2 eggs
1 cup cold coffee
3 cups flour
1 cup dates (optional)
1 cup nuts (optional)
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups diced unpeeled apples
1 cup raisins (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 375. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, coffee, and combined dry ingredients and mix well. Add apples, raisins, dates and nuts. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour.
